2025 Annual General Meetings
The Autistic Self Advocacy Network of Australia and New Zealand is holding it’s 2025 General Meetings on Sunday 2 November 2024. There will be a Special General Meeting (SGM) to vote on changes to our rules, followed by the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
If you are interested in Autistic self advocacy, we invite you to attend; this is an opportunity to meet other members, learn what we are doing, and vote. We will be voting on changes to our rules (constitution) and electing Board Members!
To vote, you need to be an Autistic member of ASAN AUNZ. We’d love to welcome you to our community.

Purpose of the Meetings
Special General Meeting (SGM)
The purpose of the meeting is to vote on proposed changes to our rules (the Constitution).
In summary, the proposed change is:
- Extend term for Board Members from 2 to 3 years
This change allows for greater continuity and sustainability as board members will have:
- a year to learn how the board operates,
- a year to provide contribution through an executive role or substantive support,
- a year to mentor and provide hand over to new board members.
A three-year term for board members is common across many of our peer organisations.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The purpose of the meeting is to be the Annual General Meeting and for members to vote on the election of Board Members.
What time is the SGM and AGM?
Here is the time for the SGM and AGM on Sunday 2nd November 2025 in each Australian and New Zealand time zone. There will be a short comfort break at the end of the SGM so start times for the AGM are approximate.
We recommend logging in to the event five minutes before the start time to ensure you have time to address any technology issues and for us to admit you via the lobby, if required.

We will host the meeting using Microsoft Teams. This allows for:
