she/her
Katy was late-identified as Autistic and ADHD, receiving her diagnoses in her early 40s.
The challenges of her own experiences navigating access to services and adequate support, including requesting and self-advocating for reasonable adjustments in the workplace, led to her interest and involvement in advocating for neuro-inclusion in
professional settings in particular.
Professionally, she has a financial background, with over 25 years of diverse expertise leading accounting, taxation, compliance, advisory, and policy functions in both the public and private sectors. Her formal qualifications include a Master of Taxation, a Bachelor of Business, an Advanced Diploma of Accounting, and she is a Chartered Tax Adviser and Registered Tax Agent.
Katy was motivated to nominate to become an ASAN AUNZ Board Member as she saw it as an opportunity to apply her lived experience and professional skillset to make an active contribution to enriching the lives of Autistic Australians and New Zealanders.
